Who are you?
A confessed employee benefit geek I live and breathe the employee benefits market and have relationships with insurers and benefit providers across the UK. I am passionate about providing a personal service to every family and organisation I work with.
Providing a wider portfolio of products than your standard broker. I develop strong, trustworthy, and lasting relationships with my clients.
I love what I do, and it is contagious!
Whenever I am not in my office, meeting a client or presenting a benefit roll out you will often find me at my allotment pottering with my plants. Being a proud welsh girl, I am also a passionate supporter of the rugby union. Having now been adopted by the North West – you can also often find me at a rugby league match or two (Go Wigan Warriors)
How did the business come about?
4 years ago, my sisters’ partner of 11 years died by suicide.
Unbeknownst to anyone Damian had been struggling with depression for 3 years. He had been prescribed anti-depressants and put into a queue for access to mental health services. A holding pattern triggered by each visit without any immediate care.
Following Damian’s suicide, my sister’s mental health suffered. I also during this time had an ectopic pregnancy.
I was fortunate enough to be able to utilise my employer funded cash plan for counselling to help me support Stephanie and also to deal with the emotional impact of this. I then had a breast cancer scare but fortunately was able to get a fast track appointment privately for a quick diagnosis by using my private medical insurance.
Both of my company-funded health insurances helped me massively in what was a very difficult time and gave me a deeper understanding of the benefits of both.
I believe everybody should have access to health treatments and tools that will make them happier and healthier.
Having worked previously with two of the biggest insurance providers in the UK, Pegasus Benefits was born to help improve the health and financial well-being of the UK’s workforce. For over a decade I have been helping individuals and employers to look after their health and well-being.
I started my business to help business owners remove the stigma associated with mental health and to help promote mental wellbeing. I want to introduce health and wellbeing products to employers to have a positive impact on the lives of their employees.
Changing the world one employer at a time.
