Meet the Real Face of Business

Matt Carey

MC Commercial Finance Ltd

Who are you?

My name is Matt Carey, I have lived in Warrington for over 30 years and have seen massive changes ALL of which have been positive and the future of Warrington looks great.

I have been in the commercial finance industry for over 12 years assisting with the SME market and providing solutions to meet business requirements.

My career started when I joined Barclays back in 2004, since then I have been in the industry and have worked for some of the biggest independent lenders in the market. I have been involved in many of the different funding areas such as Invoice Finance, Asset, Trade, loans and more.

I am a very open, honest and a hard-working individual who gives 100% in everything I do. I love to travel, do sports and walk my 3 dogs to keep me active.

How did the business come about?

I have now set up my business as I will be looking to help my clients to source the funding that is required to support, grow or start new businesses. Each facility can be tailored to suit the requirements of the business and by spending time to learn and understand what is needed this allows me to support you and get the best outcome available.

Relationships are key especially when looking at trusting someone to assist in finding commercial finance solutions for your business.

How long has your business been in existence?

My business came about Feb 2020 after 14 years in the lending side of the finance world. I have been trading for 3 months but have years of experience with the market and the businesses out there.

Why Warrington?

Warrington is where I have grew up, I moved from Manchester at the age of 2 and have never lived anywhere else.

Over these 30+ years I have seen a lot of positive changes and growth within the town which offers plenty of potential careers and this gives me no reason to go elsewhere!

Is there other places outside of Warrington?

What job or achievement makes you most proud?

My biggest achievement was setting up on my own after always having a constant wage behind me since leaving school.
It was a big risk but very rewarding and now I am able to help out businesses who need assistance as I have always been a fan of job satisfaction which drive’s me to get the best outcome possible for all involved.

Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know?

I am very adventuress and love being outdoors!

We own a touring caravan and try to get out as many weekends as possible with the 3 dogs. It keeps us active and tires them out.

From being very young I was involved in Scouting and looking back I didn’t realise how much that has taught me (unknowingly), at the time I was slightly embarrassed. I would encourage anyone to do it!

Who are the people most important in life to you?

My family and friends are the most important people to me.

Through my life friends have come and gone but I have been very lucky and have a great group of love and support around me which is key for most things.

My lovely wife obviously is the MOST important, my rock and soul mate. Still unsure how she managed to put up with me for over 10 years but here’s to many more!

What is your ‘get through lockdown tip’?

Realising that everyone is in the same boat, it took a while to get used to it even though I have worked from home for over 3 years but this is completely different.

No meetings, just pop out for a coffee, pub with friends, meals with the family………

My tip would be keep safe, exercise, keep in touch with people its easier than you think. The tip would be to remember it is only a PAUSE the world will resume.
